Daily schedule

Our daily schedule offers time for children to participate in both group activities and independent child choice activities.

Morning circle:

8:00 a.m.

This is the time to greet everyone and start our day. Activities at morning circle include children’s jobs, pledge of allegiance, calendar, weather, introduction of new letters and numbers of the week and introduce the day’s activities.

Child choice time:

9:00 a.m. – 9:25 a.m.

A variety of developmentally appropriate activities that encourage learning in all areas of development, as well as a teacher facilitated activity.

Clean up time

9:25 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
All children work together to clean up our class room.

Story time:

10:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
The teacher reads a story to the class relative to the current curriculum.

Snack time:

11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.

We believe healthy eating is an important part of being at school. We value our mealtime and try to make eating a pleasurable experience and encourage children to make healthy choices. Children begin snacking with hand washing and participate in serving and clean-up.

Meeting time:

12:30 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Meeting time is an opportunity for the whole class to get together in one area. Activities at this meeting include show and tell, music and movement, class discussions and group games. Most importantly this is a time for children to share information with others, practice listening and waiting skills, and participate in a large group.

Physical activity:

12:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.

Children participate in active play outdoors and engage in various mind engaging and sports activities.

Goodbye:

2:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Children gather personal items, receive handouts, and wait at the front door for dismissal.

Optional lunch bunch

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The Lunch programme is an extension of our day programme. This is an optional programme of one hour from 12:00p.m. to 1:00p.m. for parents who are signed up to provide meals to their children. Children on the Day programme are normally picked by midday. We encourage that all our children are on the full-day programme so that they use meal time as another opportunity to share, bond and enjoy healthy meals together.
